The average youth stays at Timber Ridge for 6 to 8 months. However, resident stays may be longer or shorter than this average.
Substance Abuse counseling services include 12-step programming for Dual Diagnostic youths with addiction problems.
In addition, Family Counseling sessions are scheduled on a regular basis, including monthly group parent training opportunities and weekly contact with child and family. Family and individual sessions are provided by Master's level counselors. In addition, residents progress through the Moral Reconation Therapy program with regular group sessions.
Our licensed Clinician supervises treatment for Problem Sexual Behaviors (PSB); treatment components include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, risk assessments, safety plans, individual, family and group therapy.
Our on campus academic program, the Uwharrie Learning Center, features traditional classroom studies and a hands-on experiential approach which is beneficial to children with Attention Deficit and Conduct Disorder symptoms. Residents may receive individual tutoring as needed.
